The Snazzy Turtle focuses on simple, enjoyable living. We believe in thriving on less and emphasizing both adventure and silence over things.
We’re a young couple, at least by full time RVer standards. Marty is 42 and Lena is 30. We decided in 2012, after years of ups and downs in the construction industry, that it was time to make a change. We didn’t know how big that change would be at the time, but it had been developing for years in our minds. I (Lena) took a job to help get us through the winter as work slowed down, and am ready to get back out on my own… working for someone else is not my cup of tea.
As our first step towards a new life we bought a 35′ fifth wheel that I’ve dubbed the Snazzy Turtle, sold our house and nearly everything in it, and moved to a local RV park to regroup and decide what the next step was. Now I’m working on building my design business to the point that it can fully support us while we travel.
We aren’t retirees, or young and unattached, or a traveling family. We are just ourselves, two people who wanted a change and made it happen. Marty has kids, but they don’t live with us all the time. I’m a freelance web and graphic designer over at Snazzy Turtle Designs, with hopes of building that into a full time job in the near future.
Lena does all the writing, and Marty is in charge of keeping her from freaking out.
I started this blog to help other people make the changes they need in their lives in order to live their dreams. Hopefully it can be a source of inspiration, humor, and some handy information as we go down this path of re-engineering ourselves.
I hope you enjoy, find something that makes you smile, and will share it with someone else!
